I've ridden (bicycle and motorcycle), driven and walked through here and it's always nice. The road is narrow. If you're on a bicycle it can be a bit sketchy, lots of traffic, trucks and buses, but you can push on the sandy trail on the beach side of the road if it gets too hairy. 2023

Beautiful, cool (temperature) and serene. Was a very memorable walk. There are also children's play areas scattered along the path, so great for kids to play and parents to relax. Due to the ground being covered by pine needles a lot of noise is absorbed. The road is less than 100m away from the path but the sound of cars driving by is very faint. If you're in the area, consider giving Karatsu Burger Matsubara Honten a try

Really cool place to take a walk. The trees are all slanted and it is amazing how they are all standing. The area is very large and you will multiple areas to park a car to enjoy this amazing pine grove. Plus, it is right next to the a very nice beach that is also worth a visit.

Lovely, quiet, beautiful place. Thousands of pine trees are all over the place. Not too many people and the area is huge. You are steping on fallen pine leaves, it is soft and it release a faint of pine fragrance. It is a very nice place for a short walk. I walked 3km from Karatsu Castle to Niji no Matsubara, then another 2km to JR 虹ノ松原駅.
