This is a beautiful river valley. The drive through it is peaceful and will recharge your batteries.

November 14, 2023 There were not many autumn leaves. The water was very beautiful. I went from the Takeda direction, but it was difficult to drive because there was little traffic and there were dead leaves and stones piled up on the road. The situation was difficult for cars with low vehicle height.

Visited on November 11, 2023 It felt like it was still early for the leaves to turn red. However, I thought it must be a beautiful place to see the autumn leaves. The road from Oita is narrow and passes over mountains, so it may be difficult to separate. This is a route where motorcyclists can also keep their guard up due to fallen leaves and rocks. There are well-equipped toilets in the valley, but there are no vending machines.

It's a good place for a drive, but there may be some traffic restrictions during construction, so we recommend checking the Hinokage Town website in advance to see if there are any traffic restrictions. Also, you won't be able to get food or drinks along the way, so we recommend purchasing food at A-Corp in town.

I came over the mountain from Umegiura Mine. I knew Shiiba Morotsuka, so that was my impression, but I felt that the path was wider than I expected. The autumn leaves that I was looking for were not good this year as it was too warm. Like Kagawa, the unique rocky mountains of the Sobo-Kakure Mountains are very interesting. Deep in the mountains means nature itself. According to people who are familiar with geography, this area was formed 15 million years ago. Aso was built 90,000 years ago, so it is a fairly old mountain. It's a strong mountain that was unfazed by the Aso eruption🏔️. The remains of mine trolleys are being used in this area and have been turned into a promenade. It is named Forest Therapy Road. If there is a typhoon, heavy rain, or ice, the road will be closed immediately, but there are few ups and downs, so it can be enjoyed safely. I definitely want to explore Therapy Road. Google cars don't seem to come from this area to the Mokpo mine, so you can see images of the roads using points. The area near Mitate Mine belongs to Therapy Road. It's actually a paved asphalt road just like the one leading up to the British Pavilion.
