Visited this shrine during last summer. It's a small shrine and you have to pay some money to enter, but in exchange you'll be purified by Shinto ritual. The scenery from here is beautiful lush green.

It is amazing to see this place on top of the mountain. How could they carried all these stuff here? Still active. You cannot take photo or videos here but can observe prayers. Move forward you will find some other facilities that you can take a break.

I've been feeling called to the mountain for two years now, and reached the summit in mid-August. I started climbing Mt. Gassan (Tsukiyomi no Mikoto/Amida) in order to stand by my mother's bedside who passed away several years ago. The course from the 8th station parking lot to the 9.5th station felt more difficult. It feels like a rock is blocking my path. Climb while protecting your feet with climbing shoes and poles. Although the mountain is crowded with people, it is a sacred area where you can only hear the sound of the air and myself, surrounded by a section in the middle. Are there any similarities between mountain climbing and Zen? I thought to myself as I continued walking silently. There is no mountain to climb! People who thought that way will feel refreshed enough to want to visit again.
