There is a castle and a shrine within the park, and the parking lot and restrooms are well-maintained for easy use. I like the scenery and it's a great place to take a walk even outside of the cherry blossom season. However, during the cherry blossom season, the scenery is special, and there are stalls and events, so it's a place that everyone from Miyagi Prefecture should visit at least once. During the cherry blossom season, temporary parking is available on the riverbed, but the problem is that there are many gravel roads, so your car will get covered in sand.

224.4.18 The cherry blossoms weren't in full bloom, but I was able to see them on the verge of falling. Monkeys also came and showed cute tricks.

We took a walk through the fresh green park while listening to the cheerful chirping of the Hohokekyo. At the castle 🏯 museum, we were able to get a glimpse of Wakuya Town's interesting history from ancient times. It was here in Wakuya-cho, where Japan's first gold was discovered, that even Emperor Shomu was concerned about, and Otomo Ieyamochi wrote a poem about it in the Manyoshu.

Visited on April 12, 2024. I went to see the cherry blossoms, and it felt like the best time to see them. I think it will be very crowded on Saturdays and Sundays. Since it was a weekday, I was able to take my time and watch it.
