Amazing place! Especially when it is 8 billion degrees down in the city. Plan to come back to explore more of the area, when it's not suicide hot outside. Bury me in the cave, next to the animal skulls and yen filled box, if I don't make it please 🙏!
Yesterday, in the middle of Obon,
I went to Tenkawa Village to see the trolley at Menfudo Cave. According to the navigation system, we arrived at 13:00, but there was a heavy traffic jam on the way to Tenkawa Village. When they finally arrived at Dorogawa Onsen, the parking space was not aligned with the tourist's car. Although the local tourist guide guided the car to the back, there was no parking space so they continued to drive around in circles, and in the end they had to leave the car. It was just before 3pm when I was parked.
With great anxiety, I lined up to ride the trolley at Menfudo Cave. It started to rain heavily on the way, so I bought my ticket first and stood in line again, but a red-haired person secretly closed the vending machine at the ticket office. They had put up a small sign saying that tickets ended today. The signboard was difficult to understand, and a different site said that you had to pay after riding the trolley, which made it difficult for new visitors to wait in line.
We were at the end of the line and we were told that ticket purchases were closed.
I thought this wasn't something the store should do. After spending a considerable amount of time in traffic, I finally arrived at this village, but if I couldn't get on the trolley, I'd probably never come.
Managing trolleys and limestone caves may be difficult, but I think one person should be present at the trolley station.
My family and I waited in line for an hour and a half and were the last to get on. The trolley ride was a very valuable experience and I had so much fun lining up to ride it, but even though I had a ticket for the return trip, I didn't have time to ride it, so I ended up walking down the mountain. It was nice to see the scenery too.
I think Menfudo Limestone Cave is also a more well-planned limestone cave than the ones in Gifu, which are lit up in different colors and look great. It was very good.
If you want to revitalize this village and attract more tourists,
Expanding the parking space, increasing the number of car guides, using intercoms to communicate with the entire village and among the guards, communicating information about trolleys on social media, asking when they will be open and when they will be open, and canceling in case of bad weather.
If we don't make it easier to understand, I don't think anyone will come.
I thought it would be better to think about the tourists who take their time to come.
I hope it catches the attention of people in Tenkawa Village.
Creating a city that makes people want to visit again next time
thank you.

Since I went during Obon, there was a long line. I was told it would take 1.5 hours for me and up to 2.5 hours for the person behind me. Although it was a short time, riding a trolley up a steep hill was a thrilling and good experience.
We had to walk on the way back, but both adults and children were able to walk normally, so walking is recommended if you have to wait.
It's fun, but I don't think it's worth waiting over an hour for.

The monorail can accommodate up to 12 people🚝The scenery at the top of the steep slope was amazing💫By the way, it seems like it can be reached on foot in about 10 minutes, so there are many people who head there instead of riding the train due to the waiting time.
There is an additional charge for the limestone cave that we reached (my husband apparently misunderstood that we could go into the limestone cave...)
A homely mini-attraction with sunscreen protection ♬
