This place was often used as a filming location for the taiga drama ``Saigodon.'' The gardens and buildings look familiar and I’m impressed 😄 Everywhere is a photo spot, so you may need to be careful not to take too many photos. There was an additional charge for inside the mansion. I'm sure you can choose to go at the entrance to Sengaku-en, but I think it's recommended to go inside the mansion because you can get a good idea of what it was like back then 😄 However, if you arrive at a time that overlaps with a group, it will be difficult because the passageways inside the mansion are narrow. In that case, it might be better to go around another place first and then come.

I bought a ticket for Senganen, Shoko Shuseikan, and the Palace for 1,600 yen, and applied for a guided tour at the entrance of the palace. The guide explained things like the different types of hidden nails depending on the purpose of the room and the social status of the person using it, and provided information that one would normally not know. Even when you tour this palace, you can get a sense of the outstanding personality of Prince Nariakira Shimazu. I wonder what the Meiji era would have been like if he had not suddenly passed away at the end of the Edo period. I am also curious about the relationship between the Shimazu family and Minamoto no Yoritomo, and the Shimazu family and the Konoe family. By visiting the site, I was able to learn about the depth of its history.
