The house, which was once a wooden inn, has been renovated and opened to the public by Kashihara City. It is located at the crossroads of the highways connecting Osaka and Ise, and Nara and Asuka, and is called Fuda no Tsuji because it was used as a ticket office. The renovations included elevating the low foundation, replacing rotten trees, and using as much of the original earthen walls as possible to create an old-fashioned finish. In addition to the detailed contents on display, you can also listen to explanations from curators. The staircase used during the inn period was closed because it had a steep angle and was worn out, and a new staircase was built to take you to the second floor. When the old stairs were used as an inn, they were covered at night to prevent guests from falling. On the second floor, there is a transom carved with chrysanthemums and scenes of Sumiyoshi Taisha and Ise Jingu shrines, which remind us of the ingenuity with which travelers were entertained at the time. I bought it after hearing the curator's explanation.

When I went to Yamato Yagi for work, I learned that Japan's oldest official road (national highway) is located in Kashihara City, so I went for a walk along Yokooji. A beautiful transom can be seen at the exchange hall located at the Yagi-fuda crossroads. Also, when you look at the townscape of Kashihara from the second floor, you will feel like you have traveled back in time to before the Edo period. The tatami mats are also large and spacious. Recommended for those who want to see Japanese houses. It looks like it would be fun to show around Yokooji to customers from overseas. Of course, we also recommend it to Japanese people as a place where you can feel the history first hand.

I passed by while walking down the lower path. I was behind schedule so I just took some photos. I would like to stop by next time.

I went to cool off at the Tsuji Koryukan in Yagifuda during the late summer heat. Japanese houses are cool even without air conditioning. I felt nostalgic and remembered the summers of my childhood. I thought the atmosphere was similar, but here and my local Ise Honkaido. It also seems to have a close relationship with "Old Hatago Aburaya." I'd like to stay overnight if possible. It was that kind of place. The staff members were also friendly and we talked about various things. Admission is free. Please note that the museum is closed on Mondays.

It is said that the inn has been renovated and preserved. It is built at the intersection of Osaka, Kyoto, and Ise. They will guide you around the museum for free and will be of great help.
