I have seen many statues of Sakamoto Ryoma since I came to Japan, from Kyoto to Kochi and now Nagasaki, and I just say this is probably the most difficult to reach if you’re not driving and decided to take the hike, and it’s also the most beautiful and majestic as it overlooks the harbor which once oversaw most of the trade between Japan and the outside world. It was totally worth it and the hike was particularly exciting. Hopefully I can visit again during the autumn season.

Nice park with a bunch of lookout spots to catch the sun setting over the water.

I never knew we have such a beautiful refreshing venue this close to city! A view tower to view the city, open play grounds and a cozy park where you can hang up rest and relax 🥰 It really felt so good to be there 😊😊

One of my favorite parks to visit for a beautiful view of Nagasaki City! I climbed up via steps through a cemetary off of Shianbashi tram stop and though it’s a workout, it’s worth it. The cherry blossoms are beautiful, a statue of Sakamoto Ryoma can be found here, and there’s a small art museum (free admission).

Peaceful park you can find easter eggs about Sakamoto Ryoma here and along the way when you walk up to this hill.
