It's on your left when you go down Route 101 from Noshiro towards Yamori and Ajigasawa. There is a relatively large parking lot (no lines) and a small observation deck at the tip. I didn't notice it (there was only a guide board right in front of me, so if I was going fast I'd miss it).I looked it up later and found out that it's famous as a sunset spot, but even in bright daylight it was a spectacular view. You can hear the sound of the waves crashing on the shore in the foreground, and on the left you can see the sight of Mt. Chokai from Nyudosaki on the Oga Peninsula in the distance (a local who happened to be there explained this to me), so please stop by and see it.

If you head north on National Route 101 from Noshiro, you will be on a road where you can't see the Sea of Japan for a while, but from here you can see the Sea of Japan all at once, and you will be moved!

On the way back from Shirakami Fureaikan in Happo Town, I was driving along National Route 101 when I saw a resting spot. The scenery was so beautiful that I couldn't help but stop at the Kanoura Observation Deck! I must have seen it on my way there, but I didn't notice it at all (^^;) I also wanted to go to the bathroom, so it was perfect. The parking lot is spacious and can accommodate 30 cars, and there are also tourist information signs for Akita Prefecture and signs showing the characteristics of Happo Town. There are also shops where you can eat and drink, and although I didn't take a photo, there are restrooms as well, making it the perfect place to take a break while driving. There are two shops, both of which offer not only meals but also a variety of take-out items, so you can satisfy everything from full-fledged meals to filling your stomach. I had just eaten before coming here, so I wasn't able to eat anything (^^; The smell of grilled squid looked delicious (lol)) As you can probably tell from the name "observation deck", there is an observation deck located at the back of the parking lot. While driving, I was captivated by this observatory and the sparkling horizon in the background. I couldn't fit it in just one photo, so I took separate photos of the north, east, and south sides. To the north you can see the Tsubaki fishing port where sandfish are landed, to the east the Sea of Japan where the sun reflects, and to the south you can see the windmills of Noshiro and the Oga Peninsula in the distance. Here is my favorite scenery. There were chairs lined up next to the shop, and you could see the Sea of Japan through the chairs. After all, the sea is a good thing (#^.^#) How beautiful is the scenery when the sun sets! I would like to come see it someday.
