In the spring of 2018, I went to the village of Shimoichi in the Yoshino district of Nara Prefecture. The plum blossom matsuri is called Hirohashi Bairin (広橋梅林). It is one of the three most famous plum blossoms spots in the mountains of Nara Prefecture.

As of March 5th, some plum trees are blooming, but the best time to see them is a little further away, and there are still many trees with hard buds. However, there was a pleasant scent of plum blossoms in the vicinity. When the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, I'm sure the plum blossoms overlooking from the deck terrace will be extremely beautiful. I'd like to go again some time later, when it's in peak bloom. If you are driving up the walking path, please be careful as the road is very narrow and you cannot drive in the opposite direction.

When I viewed it on March 14, the flowers had faded, but the fragrance still remained. It's so inconvenient to find a parking place.

3/8 was still early. It looks like it's worth seeing in full bloom. It was a weekday afternoon so it was quiet, which was good. The parking lot that appears on the map is near the top of Bairin. It goes down quite a bit to the terrace, so be prepared to climb up when you come back. There is no parking lot, so if it's a Saturday or Sunday, the bus seems to be the best option.

Plum blossoms are in full bloom and are so beautiful! There was a signboard indicating the parking lot, but I didn't really know where to park...
