Great park! Beautiful. More spacious than most in the area. Nice walking path.

I took a walk while viewing the cherry blossoms on April 14, 2024. This park was built on the site of Hanamaki Agricultural School, where Kenji Miyazawa taught for three years. The Gindoro tree is a plant belonging to the Willicaceae family, and the underside of its leaves are covered with white hairs, giving it a silver-white appearance when it flutters in the wind. Kenji Miyazawa is said to have loved the Japanese pine tree. In the park, there is a group of statues of ``Kaze no Matasaburo''.

There is a monument to Matasaburo Kaze, and the cycle of walking, researching, and reading is fun. It's fun to visit Kenji from Hanamaki. It's a nice park.

A necessary condition for a good park is clean restrooms. Having a connection to Kenji is neither a necessary nor sufficient condition for a good park, but I think Gindoro Park is a good park.

``Gindoro Park'' is a park built on the site of the Hanamaki Agricultural School where Kenji was a teacher. In addition to planting the Ginkgo tree that Kenji loved, there is also a monument with a poem engraved with a line from Kenji's ``Early Spring,'' and a group of stone statues of ``Kaze no Matasaburo'' (winner of the 1st Hongo Shin Outdoor Sculpture Award). is also installed. At Gindoro Park, you can enjoy the scenery of each season, and it is said that you can see the colorful autumn leaves from late October to early November every year. I was curious about Gindoro, so I looked into it. Populus alba (scientific name: Populus alba) is a species of plant in the Willicaceae family. Other names are Urajiro cottonwood (Ura-white box willow) and Hakuyo (white cottonwood).
