☆Northwest of Himeji Castle, there is a well with a splendid roof at the end of the “Senhime Path”👀 One of the ``Harima Ten Waters'' = ``Sagi no Shimizu'', which existed long before Himeji Castle was built, was carefully selected by Yoshimura Akamatsu, the guardian of Harima Province, around 1500 during the Muromachi period, from the springs in the Harima territory. What happened was “Harima Jusui” The location of the well is inside the castle, so the common people could not enter the castle and instead drew the fresh water that flowed into the Senba River on the west side, which is interesting🚰 There is an explanatory board and the shape is also drawn. The apparent size is 2.8m east-west x 6.0m north-south x 2.5m deep.In addition, there is a wooden well with a diameter of 1.3m x depth of 2.4m in the middle of the well bottom. It seems that there are⁉️ It's a pity that you can't look into the well itself up close because there is a fence around it, but as a ruin, it has a distinctive origin and shape, and its original appearance has been largely restored, making it an important remains of the Himeji Castle ruins. ☆ Stroll through Shimizu Monzeki from the Senhime path, a quiet place where few tourists come, and have an unexpected encounter with Himeji Castle's ``Tenjyo,'' which towers over the main keep, and you can see a different atmosphere in the distance 🏯

It is said to be one of the most important remains of the Himeji Castle ruins. From here, you can also see the northwestern part of the castle tower.

The remains of Sagi no Shimizu, which has been known as a famous water since ancient times. According to the Harima Kagami, this heron clear water has been counted as one of the Ten Waters of Harima since the time of Akamatsu Yoshimura (d. 1521), and has a good flavor and was also used for tea ceremonies. This remains has been largely restored to its original appearance, and is said to be one of the most important remains of Himeji Castle. There is a splendid preserved tree right next to it, and together with the stone wall, it is a wonderful scenery.

It must have been an important well because I was able to confirm that it still has water (looking from the side). I think so. However, it is far from the castle, so if you want to use it, it will be a long road.

``Sagi-no-Shimizu'' is a good place to view the large tree (preserved tree) on the stone wall on the east side and the castle.
