Saga Castle Park

A beautiful and precious Japanese traditional castle to visit, and learn modern Japanese history change. Awesome.

A quaint castle ruin to visit. Nestled in a very quiet neighbourhood, it was so serene we were afraid to make noises 😄. Most part of the castle was destroyed, the main entrance and some buildings remain standing. Some old cannons placed around the castle for photo taking. Majestic pine trees surrounded the park.

What a surprise that I had while visiting. It's a huge castle (flat without a traditional keep) that was rebuilt with traditional technic and method. It contains une beautiful exhibition about the Saga domain Lords and their part in modernizing Japan at the beginning of the Edo period. English Information and audio guide are available. The entrance is free but the ask for a contribution.

Nice for a walk if the weather is pleasant. There are benches so you can sit down and look at the water.

Beautiful place for visiting. This place is known as traditional house of emperor.
