Oshino Hakkai

Cute little village but very touristy. Excellent view of Mt Fuji with traditional Japanese buildings and trees making it a photogenic place. The water here is meant to be very tasty from Mt Fuji and the eels are supposedly caught nearby but bathed in the water for 2 weeks to make them tastier. Large area for you to buy some souvenirs.

Really nice place. Ideally one should go early before lunch or in the evening. Else it gets really crowded. There are many good small restaurants which serve fresh water fish. Worth trying for fish lovers the further away to go from the touristy center the better it is for food.

This spring is fantastic. You have a lovely background of Mount Fuji if it isn’t cloudy. And I would 100% recommend taking an empty bottle with you to take some fresh spring water home with you. If not you can buy some empty bottles at the spring.

Over crowded with Chinese tourist as the tour buses all came in the afternoon when we arrived 😭 Was rather scenic but not super amazing or anything. Cool ponds I guess. Pretty mid.

It's super crowded today. Low clouds today and unable to see Mt Fuji. Took a slow walk to admire the sceneries and soak in the ambiance of the area. Food street had a mixture of food, but prices were very high. The gift shop was very crowded. It has a good range of products from food to T- shirts and many gift items.
