Very cute shrine surrounded by a plum orchard. Definitely worth stopping by when admiring the plum blossoms.

The parking lot above Ushio Shrine is right where the ancient tomb is, but if you time it right, you can see a beautiful sunset. The Togawa stupa can also be seen to the southwest. During the day, if you look to the east, you can see Saga from Ushizu. Once it gets dark, you can enjoy a very modest night view of the Saga Plain.

It is a quiet and peaceful shrine. On the day I visited, the daffodils were blooming and the plums were starting to bloom. The air was still cold, but the gentle spring sunshine made us feel comfortable. thank you very much. There were flying plums planted in the precincts, and fortune telling fortunes were tied to them, giving it a nice atmosphere. Plum blossom petals were floating in the water of the Chozuya and it was beautiful. Due to such a wonderful coincidence, we had a very happy time. Also, I would definitely like to visit in a different season in the spring. It was a wonderful first day of spring.

❶ [Reference: Ogi County Geography, 1899] Ushio Shrine Mt. Ushio is a famous spot for plum blossoms. It is said that in the 15th year of the Enryaku era, Ushio Shrine was founded by imperial order. The founder, Ryogonboshi, was famous as one of Japan's four Betto, but now only one remains.

I stopped by when I went to Ushio Bairin. It is built on the slope of a mountain and is the local deity. If you go up the slope on the side, there is a plaza where there are several stalls during the plum blossom season.
