A beautiful set of temples in a historical complex that was very well maintained. There's the main tower where you can walk up five floors but disappointingly there was no major view nor main scenery at the top. Worth to go for the temples and statues if you're in the area. I wish there were signs explaining what each section was, however.

I got there by getting off at the Tennoji Station. From there it's a 10 minute walk north-east. I visited the temple on the 22nd of September and so the flea market was setup on the periphery of the temple grounds The temple was well worth visiting especially if you pick up a bargain. It made for a very enjoyable morning. At the market there were clothing vendors, people selling games for gaming consoles. There was even a person selling used cameras, lenses, etc

I found that almost everyone from the west did not know what to do on the top of the tower… there is a relics of Sakyamuni In the middle of the room on that floor… you should put your hand together and bow to it to complete the ceremony so It doesn't go to waste the time up to the top of the tower. wish the god be with you:) sorry for the pic I took there it is not be allowed, but I feel that I should say it out. and in the south of this temple there is a large rest area with air conditioner and many chairs and tables , and you can also buy all the souvenir there.

I found it underwhelming. The main temple has a spiral staircase to the top level. Unfortunately climbing the temple is a total waste of time & when you get to the top there is no view it has no ventilation either. The other temple opposite has payers being said for people who have paid for this service & saves the whole place from a 1 star review. This a quite fascinating. You cannot take any photos within any temple. Some outdoor shrines are photo worthy. You really don't need to go inside. On the plus side there are plenty of free, clean toilets.

This temple is worth a visit if you are nearby, as it's not too crowded and therefore it offers a peaceful experience. The impressive 5-story pagoda, as well as some beautiful paintings and statues, make it also a remarkable place. Notably, it is one of the oldest temples in Japan, with a history dating back to the 6th century. Although it has been destroyed and rebuilt several times, today it presents a perfect appearance. In fact, I read that the temple was last destroyed by a typhoon in 1934 and restored to its current state in 1963, which explains the current perfect look.
