If you a bridge line I do, you will Love this unique bridge! I’ve never seen a bridge like this before. The architecture of the bridge is very different from the more ‘common’ bridge. I love the built in stairs on the bridge as you walk across. As you walk across the bridge, there is a ticket booth, which will give you discounts at the different restaurants or shops that’s located over the bridge. The ticket is worth the price as it’s not that expensive to start off. I also took my time and went beneath the bridge to enjoy the water by the river. Local kids are splashing around and it’s very safe. Some are fishing but I just enjoyed the cold clear water with the beautiful scenery.

This bridge is stunning and definitely worth a visit! The scenery is spectacular, making it a fantastic spot for photography, especially during cherry blossom season. The nearby historic buildings and shrines are equally impressive and easily accessible via a short hike or cable car ride to the Iwakuni Castle.

One of the three most famous bridges in Japan. Almost completely built from wood (apart from the supporting pillars) but the manner in which it was built was indeed quite impressive. Loved the arches that kept going on throughout the bridge. Quite a trek with the tiny shallow step!

This was a fun bridge to cross on the way to the castle ruins. There is a ticket booth at the front of the bridge where you can pay to cross the bridge or you can get a combo ticket that includes the bridge and castle (recommended 👍)

It looks cool, you pay 400 yen and walk across. It’s a little slippery when wet but the photos were good. Not necessarily worth a long detour but definitely worth it if you’re in the area.
