Beautiful view. No bathroom and boy did I need one. But it's an incredible area. It's a tough climb on a bicycle. A little rain fell as I road towards Akune...I finally found a road construction crew outhouse (so small my knee hurt for the rest of the day from the tight squat) that saved the day. I did ask for permission to use it, I'm sure it was weird for him to have me walk in the office, so thank you very much. 2023

I visited from Yamanashi Prefecture. It was open and had a great view, and I was impressed by the dynamic and beautiful sunset. Also, perhaps by luck, we were able to see a pod of dolphins, which was great. The parking lot is only for 2 cars and the space is small, so it feels like a hidden sunset spot. I want to come again. 2024.9.14

I discovered this when I went solo to Hashima for a change of pace! There was a sign saying Sunset Park, so I stopped by. At first, I ended up riding the wrong bike and went all the way to the top💦 There is space to park two cars. The Koshikijima Islands looked beautiful! I think the best time is sunset. There was no toilet.

In the summer of 2023, I passed through it on a walking trip across Japan. It was a tough walk to get here, but we were able to rest for a while.

Although the observatory is not very large, it offers a panoramic view of the East China Sea, and the sunset view is also beautiful. I could see the Koshikishima Islands on the horizon in front of me, and the nearby uninhabited island of Okinoshima (Satsuma Okinoshima) to the south. Okinoshima is a small island surrounded by steep cliffs, inhabited by wild monkeys, and has often been featured in a desert island survival project on a TV program.
