Lovely bridge surrounded by amazing countryside. Unique in that there is no supports just held at each side. Worth a visit.

I went to Obon in August 2024. There aren't many people and you can enjoy it slowly, but there are no vending machines or anything, so it feels like you just have to cross and take a photo and that's it, but it's still worth seeing. I am curious about how this bridge was built and how it is hung. I think it's amazing that you can't see where the wire is pulling.

I crossed the Yume Suspension Bridge over Hattahara Dam. It is a PC suspension bridge without towers that takes advantage of the strong topography on both banks, and is the largest of its kind in the world, and has a Guinness-certified nameplate (from the website) There is no tower suspended from the top with wires, it is simply a bridge, and the design of the red handrail is wonderful. It is said that if you make a wish while crossing the bridge, your wish will come true. It's romantic!

Around early August 2024 I stopped by on my way to Kawasa Gorge. Guinness recognizes Yume Suspension Bridge as the best in the world! It was built with a special suspension slab structure, and has a total length of 147.6m. It's the best in the world. It seems that the name ``Yume Suspension Bridge'' was given to it by soliciting people from the public. The bridge is well maintained, and the iron fence is twisted into patterns. The one with Yume Suspension Bridge written in kanji is said to be the entrance, and the one written in hiragana is said to be the exit. You can experience a short walk in the air while looking at Hattawara Dam and the dam lake until you cross and return. Even though it is a suspension bridge, there are no pillars or wires to hang it from, it has a solid sense of stability and is about 1.5m wide. Cars cannot pass. You can only feel the vibrations when a person runs. From the parking lot, you can reach this suspension bridge in 3 to 5 minutes on foot. There is a brake, so bicycles and motorcycles can go to the side of the bridge. The view of the dam lake and this red suspension bridge in the forest is very wonderful. I want many people to know about it as a tourist destination in Hiroshima Prefecture. *There are no vending machines, restrooms, rest houses, etc. There was a bench near the entrance.
