**American Family Visiting** This location is truly one of the best views in Japan. I wish we had been able to stay and see the night view but limited time. There is a wonderful little cafe on the inside with a few drink and small food options (the fries were great!). Signs are mostly in Japanese but google translate will help with all of the signage. There is a slope car that will take you to the top from the parking lot just below the summit. Alternatively, there is also a ropeway (which was closed while we were there) that takes you from the bottom of the mountain to the top. My only complaint is that the monkey enclosure needs some attention. It is a small enclosure for so many monkeys and when we visited in June, it was hot and there was little shade for them.

This is an amazing site to visit in Nagasaki. From the observatory, you can have a breathtaking view of the entire city of Nagasaki, and the neighbouring islands. It was recently ranked the 3rd most beautiful night view in the world. It's around 330m above sea level. Whenever you get the chance to visit Nagasaki, don't miss the opportunity to visit. I'll add, if you can make it just before sunset, that is perfect.

Beautiful view of the whole city. I recommend in clear weather and preferably an hour before sunset. This way, you will get a view of the city not only in daylight, but also if you can stand the night lighting. The wind blows at the top and it gets colder in the evening.

Nice observatory worth coming. Parked at the lower deck and took the tram up at 500¥ for a return trip. Totally worth it. Free Wifi, loads of people, paid professional photographers also available. Less some random green bugs that are irritating

Truly a beautiful night view. One of the best I've seen. And the atmosphere at the top is very calming. I enjoyed my experience there. However, I went on an empty stomach (my mistake) and wasn't expecting food, but since it was a tourist attraction, I was holding out hope. They stop selling food at the counter at 19:00, and the restaurant was closed when I went (Sunday around 20:00). They did sell small snacks (ice cream and scones), but they only accept cashless payment. I also found the experience of squishing onto the ropeway to be less than pleasant. The slope car seemed like a less crowded and cheaper way down, but I didn't know about it until I had already purchased my round-trip ticket. If you're traveling on a budget, I would recommend the view from the Mt. Nabekammuri Observatory as an alternative. Slightly lower in elevation, but still beautiful, less crowded, and free!
