Nice little walk through the old samurai houses. Shops located in a few nooks and crannies. Not much to do in the area tho. Would be great if they have people dressed up as a samurai walking around. Still, a nice walk to experience it all.

The residence and history were interesting but the garden was my favourite part. Even after seeing so many exquisite and special gardens and green spaces in Japan, this one is still a stand-out. The residence can get a bit overwhelmed with visitors as it's quite small.

Beautiful Samurai style house, with beautiful tranquility simply sitting by the pond, listening to the water, and watching the koi swim by. Go upstairs and partake in a little tea where you sit on the floor and enjoy peacefully as the small room is yours only for 15min. once you pay for the tea... nominal fee. The house overall is not Very Big but it is quaint and gives you a small glimpse into the samurai life. ENJOY!

Samurais had a district to hang out, party, practice and just live. Kind of like a sprawling military barracks, on architectural steroids. You'll never see a military barracks or base or fort look like this. Makes me want to bring Samurais back into existence and make them cool again. Nothing but respect and admiration for such a unique part of their history that is so revered.

We’ve visited quite a few houses that were open to the public for free so I didn’t have high expectations for this one. But we really enjoyed our visit!! The gardens are really nice and the residency is nicely preserved. You cannot walk in the gardens but they are nice to look at. It’s def worth a visit if you’re in the area!
