One of the best aquarium I have went to with the kids. There is so much to do, an indoor playground, a pretty nice outdoor area to enjoy on sunny days. Overall you can easily spend more than 3 hours. A bit pricey as they will charge ¥2800 per adult Also just across you can go to Takasakiyama Natural Zoological Garden where you can see over 200 monkeys!

My friend and I recently visited Beppu for a quick trip and decided to go to the Umitamago Aquarium. Wow! Such a great a fantastic experience! We got to pet a seal and walrus, saw some penguins up close, and the dolphin show was great. I’ve been to the Osaka aquarium and enjoyed it, but this one blew it out of the water with the more immersive experience. Shout out to the keeper who let us take some cool pics and the dolphin trainer who clearly loves his job and your bottle nose friend. 😊

Fun and cute!

It's an aquarium where you can watch the dolphin show right in front of you. You can actually touch the stingrays. It took about 2 and a half hours to go around the aquarium.

There were tropical chameleons at the play beach house! It was cute! As of 2023, there are sloths (^o^)
