Makino Park, in Sakawa, Kōchi Prefecture, is one of the "100 Best Cherry Blossom Viewing Spots in Japan". Courtesy: Nippon.com “Makino Park is named after Makino Tomitarō, a Sakawa native who is considered the father of Japanese botany. In addition to somei Yoshino, the park features many different cherry blossom varieties, some of which, like ōshimazakura, sendaiyazakura, and wakakinosakura, were identified and named by Makino himself. During the cherry blossom festival, shops open to selling food and drinks, including alcoholic beverages. For a fee, the shops also offer hanami seating, which is popular with revellers wishing to enjoy nighttime yozakura. Sakawa is also famous for its sake, and the town’s biggest brewery, Tsukasabotan, is located next to Makino Park.”

A small park on a hill. The full bloom has just passed, but I still can see some nice flowers.

This park is so familiar with local People that they go on picnic especially in Cherryblossom season. This park has been designated as one of the most beautiful 100 Sakura Parks in Japan. It's worth visiting here on Cherryblossom season.
