A park with a quiet and calm atmosphere just sitting on a bench The square is rough with weeds and parched soil, and there is dog and bird droppings, so be careful. The basketball goal has a broken net and is decaying. A lot of the play equipment has been removed from when I first came here, and now there are only basic play equipment such as slides, swings, and horizontal bars. Elephant and giraffe ornaments that have been around for a long time have been repainted and are still alive and well. The bronze statue of Hashimoto Sanai Sensei had its pedestal removed and was placed in the corner, so it may be relocated somewhere. There is also a wealth of exhibits related to Matsuo Basho's travels to Echizen. There is a flower bed and the flowers are blooming beautifully, probably taken care of by the government office or the neighbors.

It's located just across the Asuwa River, which flows through the city, from the station side, and I took a walk in the morning feeling the end of the Edo period. Sanai Hashimoto is famous as a patriot at the end of the Echizen Edo period, and his grave and bronze statues and stone monuments praising him are enshrined in Sanai Park. Although it was close to the city, it was a very relaxing space. There are many other historical sites in the surrounding area, so it was a good course for history buffs🚶👣

A park with a grave dedicated to Sanai Hashimoto. Sanai Hashimoto was a samurai of the Fukui clan and a thinker. One of his books is ``Enlightenment'' (1848), in which he wrote about his aspirations when he was 15 years old. He was sentenced to death at the age of 25 in the Great Prison of Ansei.

The park also has statues of animals such as elephants and giraffes, making it a park that children can also enjoy. However, inside the park, there is a monument to the school song of Asuwa Elementary School, and above all, the statue of Hashimoto Sanai catches the eye. There is also the grave of Sanai Hashimoto here, which is definitely worth a visit. Furthermore, there is a monument of Matsuo Basho's haiku at the back of the park, which shows that this is a place related to Oku-no-Hosomichi, so it can be said that it is a park with historical value. It's a bit of a walk from the station, but why not give it a visit?

This park has a bronze statue of Hashimoto Sanai, a patriot from Fukui at the end of the Edo period. He had relationships with Toko Fujita of the Mito domain, Kichinosuke Saigo of the Satsuma domain, Kumohama Umeda of the Obama domain, and Kogusu Yokoi of the Kumamoto domain, and was accused of intervening in the issue of succession to the 14th shogun during the Edo period, and was beheaded in the Great Prison of Ansei. Become. He passed away at the age of 25.Although there are animal objects, it was not a beautiful park. Please note that there is no parking lot.
