Beautiful, peaceful garden right next to Matsuyama Castle, 200円 for adults and 100円 for children. The buildings of the Ninomaru apparently burned down in 1872, and in the 1990s rather than rebuild them, they used the floor plans as the positions of the water pools and flower beds. I think the concept is well executed. We came in August 2024 and while it was very hot, there are trees and structures that offer shade. The small waterfalls are pretty. It's not the best season to see flowers or fruits but it was nice nonetheless.

The staff were welcoming, giving me limes grown within the gardens on entry. The walk around was very peaceful, a nice change from the busy castle grounds

Beautiful Japanese garden. You cannot enter the castle from here. The garden itself costs 200 yen a person to enter. Very cheap and a nice escape to walk around. There is a free parking lot around the bend from the museum parking lot

(Visited on March 14 2023) I feel like this should be included in the castle ticket. There wasn't much to see and I think I was unlucky because there were many employees working in the garden and it felt like they were spring cleaning it. All the ponds were empty and there were hoses laying about everywhere.

The entrance fee is only 200 yen. You can have a great time relaxing while enjoying the beautiful scenery. They also have English translations, so if you're into history, you'll definitely enjoy it here.
