A promenade has been established from the southwest of the Tamatebako Onsen parking lot. It gushes out from the ground, and you can see Nagasakihana and Mt. Kaimondake through the smoke. When I visited, I was unable to go down to the coast below the cliff.

A cliff about 30m high rises from the sandy beach. This seems to have been deposited by pyroclastic flows ejected when Lake Ikeda erupted. Also on the coast is the famous sand bath hot spring called Sayuri. *As of September 2022, temporarily closed due to slope collapse Furthermore, on top of the cliff there is the site of a salt factory that utilized heat from hot springs, and the source (salt water) still gushes out. Next to it is Tamatebako Onsen, a famous hot spring that has been ranked number one in Japan for day trip hot springs. At the end of the coastline is Mt. Kaimondake, Mt. Satsuma Fuji, and in the background is the vertically protruding, strangely shaped rock, Mt. Takeyama, making for a spectacular view. If you visit Kagoshima for sightseeing in Ibusuki, you can't miss this place.

It was not possible to go down to the coast because the walking path was under construction. You can go to the ruins of the salt fields. Construction was expected to be completed around November.
