Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. We came in late September without too much in bloom and yet it was still beautiful. The garden is so well constructed you can feel the flow that was intended and enjoy the weaving in and out of some impressively old trees. It was definitely a bit tourist crowded, but we managed to stick to the outside paths and not feel too overwhelmed...and we still saw more than enough. Besides, we were all happy to help each other take pictures at the pretty photo spots (tourists supporting tourists, right?) and there are many spectacular views to be had. Come here with no pressure on schedule, take a relaxing stroll through some wonderful arrangements, and send a few pictures home to the family.

Very well kept gardens which offered a needed shade from the hot sun! This is a place that allows you to relax and enjoy the quiet atmosphere. There were not many people around and that gave us a chance to really enjoy watching the gardeners taking care of the moss and was almost meditative. The gardens are not very big and we spent less than an hour there, but for a price of 320 yen per person it was totally acceptable! We did not visit the tea house but just saw it from the outside. On the opposite entrance from where we came in you will directly see the Kanazawa Castle Park and there is also a quaint street with restaurants and shops selling golden ice cream!

Nice and well maintained garden. Beautiful old and impressive trees and nice little ponds and streams. Tea houses all around. It was a little crowded when we visited. It’s a nice place when you’re around but not recommended coming here exceptionally for that garden.

This was a nice way to spend an hour or so on a hot summer day. There is a small entrance fee, but the garden experience is worth the price. The gardens are very well maintained, and the paths are fun to walk around on. There are a few tea houses offering drinks and snacks, which was a welcome spot to stop during the hot season. It is easy to reach the gardens via the loop bus. Overall a good place to visit.

One of my two favorite gardens from my Japan trip (the other being in Yokohama). So many paths with details to explore. Plenty of water features, bridges, places to sit and ponder. Very well designed and maintained. Great central location as well.
