Toba Bay Cruise is one of the must go spots on the free entry list of the Kintetsu super passport 近鉄伊勢・鳥羽・志摩スーパーパスポート“まわりゃんせ”. Highly recommended to take a ride if you are visiting the area together with Toba Aquarium and Mikimoto Pearl Museum as they are very very close. The cruise was comfy and you can buy shrimp crackers snacks for feeding birds throughout the ride. The ride takes around 50 minutes. It is chill to enjoy an afternoon ride 🚢
I want to bask in the sea breeze of Toba Bay and look at the islands floating in Toba Bay.
This is a sightseeing boat that will make that dream come true.
Seagulls often fly by, but so do kites, so please refrain from eating on the observation deck while boarding the boat.
However, the last flight is surprisingly early, so be sure to board early.
I've always wanted to try cruising, and when I looked into whether I could ride one in Ise or Toba, I came across this one.
The ticket cost is 2,300 yen, including the entrance fee to Dolphin Island and the round trip fee by boat. It seems to be a little cheaper if you buy it online.
Cruising is really expensive everywhere, but I think this is truly exceptional.
Riding times vary depending on the day, so please check the official website.
There are two types of ship designs: Flower Mermaid and Ryugu Castle.
I rode on both, but personally, I felt the Flower Mermaid was more luxurious and felt like I was on a luxury cruise ship.
It is a very large ship that can accommodate 360 passengers, and there are seats on the first and second floors. The 1st and 2nd floors have completely different designs, so please take a look and compare.
Actually, there is also a third floor (outside).
I will introduce my personal recommended way of riding later.
The seagulls will run along with the boat, so you can have the rare experience of feeding them while riding on the boat. Feeding fee is 200 yen. There is quite a lot of food, so if you buy one, you will have enough for one person, a family, or a couple.
The seagulls are located at the Toba Marine Terminal boarding area, so I think it's best to feed them when you depart from that location.
☆Personally recommended riding method
Please purchase tickets in advance online or at Toba Marine Terminal.
💘The first train (from 9am) is better because there are fewer people💘
・Get on the boat from Toba Marine Terminal and buy seagull food at the shop before departing.
・If you still have time before departure, check out the 1st and 2nd floors.
・Before departing, prepare food for the seagulls (open the bag if it's in a bag) and a camera for taking pictures, then go outside of the second floor.
・When you leave, seagulls will fly by, so feed them by hand or by throwing them (please be careful, as other birds such as crows may come).
・After feeding, take photos inside and outside the boat and look at the sea and remote islands.
Before long, you'll arrive at Dolphin Island, so it's a good idea to be ready to get off quickly.
On the way home, I recommend listening to the ship's broadcasts from outside on the third floor, enjoying the sea breeze, watching the sea shine beautifully as it reflects in the sun, and seeing the remote islands.
Especially in the summer, it's great to buy cold drinks from the shops.
It takes 25 minutes each way, but you won't get tired of seeing it at all.
You are always working hard, you want to change your mood, you want to spend a romantic time with your loved one. I think cruising meets the needs of many people.
On the way back, the bus will arrive first at the Pearl Island/Aquarium-mae stop and then stop at the final stop, Toba Marine Terminal.
If you want to go to Toba Aquarium or Pearl Island, please get off at the Pearl Island/Aquarium-mae stop.
Tickets can also be purchased cheaply as a set with Pearl Island, so if you want to go, please check the official website.
There was an overbearing male staff member.
I conveyed my opinion to the management along with my name, but an acquaintance who went there a few months later said the same thing, so it doesn't seem like any action will be taken.
I read past reviews, and it seems that unfavorable reviews will be deleted.
We believe that your trip will be better if you do not use this service.
I hope it helps someone.
The ship is a two-story ship, and there is a shop on the second floor, where you can buy takoyaki and other items and enjoy looking out while eating them. You can feed the seagulls and go out onto the deck to experience feeding wild seagulls. However, seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so I arrived late and couldn't get a seat on the way there, so if you want to sit, I think it's better to leave plenty of time before boarding.
