Amazing castle with nice garden. Worth to visit even on a rainy day.

The exterior of the castle is beautiful but unless you're already going to Kenroku-en I'd skip buying a ticket for the museum. It's basically empty with very few historical items, and only explains the restauration process and how the castle was built. I hoped for some furniture, immersive explanations of how life was in the castle etc.

A great pie e of history, and plenty to see and learn. Beautiful grounds, and definitely worth a visit.

One of the top 100 famous cities, Kanazawa Castle is located in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. It is a well-preserved historical city. The historical background of the city site Kanazawa Castle was originally the residence of the Maeda family during the Warring States Period. After many repairs and reconstructions, it has become an important cultural heritage of the Hokuriku region. Before visiting, you can learn about the history of Kanazawa Castle, which will make your visit more in-depth. It is generally recommended to set aside half a day for a tour of Kanazawa Castle. You can slowly appreciate the architecture and history of the castle, and you can also stop by Kenrokuen Garden. If you have enough time, you can also go to the nearby Kanazawa 21st Century Museum of Art or Nagamachi Samurai Yashiki for a more in-depth cultural experience. Kanazawa Castle is not far from Kanazawa Station and can be easily reached by bus or on foot. Some areas are open for free, such as the Ishikawa Gate and surrounding scenic spots, but some exhibition halls and specific areas may require payment of tickets. It is recommended to check the opening hours and fees in advance. The cherry blossom season in spring and the red leaf season in autumn are the most popular times to visit Kanazawa Castle. At this time, the weather is pleasant and the scenery is the most spectacular. If you like quiet, you can choose to go on weekdays or during the off-season to enjoy a more peaceful atmosphere. After visiting Kanazawa Castle, you can try local specialties such as Kanazawa sushi or Kaga cuisine, especially in the castle town area where there are many traditional restaurants and snack shops. In addition, Kanazawa is also famous for its gold foil products, which are very representative as souvenirs or souvenirs. In short, a tour of Kanazawa Castle is an experience that perfectly combines history and natural landscapes, and is suitable for tourists who like cultural heritage and natural landscapes.

Perfect for hiking and walking. Although it is a castle, it is also rich in nature. We recommend that you wear clothes that are comfortable for walking.
