Kigan Yusenkyo Rock Formations

Beautiful, especially in autumn when the leaves show all their colours.

The strangely shaped rock formations are a typical scenic spot along Oku no Hosomichi. Of all the four seasons, the time of autumn leaves is probably the best time to see them.

I visited in early November. Some of the leaves are starting to turn red, and the surface of the pond, where beautiful carp fish swim, is reflected in the beautiful landscape of strangely shaped rocks and colorful trees. The stone Buddha statue in the crevice of the rock, the stairs whose corners have worn off over the years, and the torii gate in the back are all views that are unique to this place.

A few days ago, I heard on TV that ``Autumn leaves are at their peak now, and they'll be fine for the rest of the month,'' and today's forecast for sunny autumn skies set me on my way. This year's autumn leaves are beautiful everywhere, probably because there is a big difference in temperature throughout the day, and like most people, Natadera Temple is at its best right now! Following this week's mild weather, it looks like the nice weather will continue into next week, and we'll be able to enjoy the bright colors of autumn soon.
