Hokokuji Bamboo Forest

The scenery is beautiful, quiet, and has the zen feel. The entry ticket is 400 yen, and to add on the tea experience is 1000 yen. This place of interest is small. You just need to spend 10 mins walking around, but travelling takes about 30 mins to an hour return by bus from the nearest train station. Apart from the bamboo forest, there is nothing else to do here. Although there is a cafe near the bus stop.

I was expecting a huge forest but the area was quite small, I can imagine that if there are more than 30 people the experience might be not so amazing as ours. There is a small garden close by and some benches to enjoy the atmosphere and peaceful sounds of the forest. If you want you can visit the tea spot in the forest to enjoy a few sips and clear your mind.

Amazing little place just out of town. Make sure you try the green tea. Worth getting a cab to visit.

It was raining when we came here and it was blessing in disguise! There were very few people and we could go to the tea shop without falling in line. 600¥ for entrance but you can also pay 1000¥ for both the entrance and matcha experience. Highly recommend the 1000¥ ticket 🫶🏻

I loved the whole experience of this place. The bamboo forest was so beautiful and the scenery, you just wanted to embrace. The green tea was a quiet moment to be with nature. Just be in the moment and embrace it all.
