A very beautiful spot to visit. First you take a cable car, that operates every 15min. After you can either walk (about 20 min) to the temple area or take a small bus that goes every 20 min. (For the bus you need cash). The temple area is very tranquil and beautiful. You still walk quite a bit between all the temples and some stairs. The area is beautiful between the trees, so lots of shade. We were there will it was 33 degrees Celsius, but because of the shade it was still very doable.

Absolutely a beautiful breathtaking walk. There was no wait for the ropeway other than the scheduled times that were posted. If you want an adventure with beautiful scenery and away from forgein tourist, this is the spot to go to. While in the middle of summer, the head was rough, I would recommend this trek any other time of the year unless you're used to the heat with high humidity.

If you want shrines without many tourists, this is a great place to go. Serene, covered in forest, and quite a few buildings in the area (around 4 you can go into, some you cannot) If you’re already planning on going to the castle, this is a great way to make it a day. I enjoyed it more than the castle as it was so quiet

Beautiful place with multiple buildings of the temple. Can be explored on foot, although there's bus services that you can pay for to avoid the short walk/climb upwards to Maniden.

Astonishing place. Count to spend at least 2-3 hours to visit. You have to take a ropeway to reach the top of the mountain, and then pay 500 yen if you will be walking or 1000 yen by bus. Didn’t like that you have to pay more to get inside one of the temples, after paying for both the ropeway and entrance. Even so, this place is incredible and definitely worth a visit. I came here because of the movie “The Last Samurai”, where they filmed some scenes.
