I have been to Monet's Pond several times now. The pond, although small, is spectacular in the right conditions. On cloudy days it's not quite so beautiful, nor early in the morning when the sun is still blocked by the mountains. The peak for beauty seems to be in the afternoon when the sunlight reaches the pond. The biggest drawback with the pond is the number of people. It's not uncommon for there to be people shoulder to shoulder all the way around the pond on weekends. However, if you get there before 10AM it's not as crowded. Across the road is a parking lot (500yen) and a river. The river is also quite beautiful and photo worthy. Behind the pond there's a hydrangea park about a 5 to 10 minute hike into the woods. Over all it's a great place to visit.

A beautiful Pond with Water Lilies and Koi Fish, a symbol of luck and good fortune in Japan. There is also a Shrine a short distance away. Other things to do at the place include visiting some Souvenir shops, an Onsen at the nearby Itadori Seki City or the Shiratani Kannon Buddhist Temple.

Monet's pond is a little out of the way, but it is totally worth the pit stop or a small detour if you are passing through the area. Nestled in the countryside, this picturesque pond captures the essence of Monet's famous water liies. Visiting Monet's Pond feels like stepping into a living masterpiece. The tranquil waters reflect the surrounding landscape, creating a mesmerizing tableau of colours and textures. Admission is free.

The water wasn’t as blue as seen in some pictures, but that may be because I went on a cloudy day. It’s a really pretty koi fish pond. I wouldn’t drive for hours just to see it, but if you’re in the area or passing by it’s worth a stop.

Visited on 19th March. Made a detour to visit the pond while travelling to Inuyama from Gujo Hachiman. The drive there includes some narrow and windy roads. Not sure if I would recommend this place. The pond is quite small. However, it is very pretty and the water is crystal clear, enabling a good view into the pond. There is also a small shrine nearby the pond
