Noshiro Energium Park

If in northern Akita Prefecture this is a nice place to visit for some local culture. Huge summer festival floats on display in one building with an indoor botanical garden in another. Also a small play area for toddlers if needed.

Free with lots of parking. There is also a large park behind the center, a vending machine area. Great place for the kids to run around and burn some energy.

It is a complex facility adjacent to a power plant by the sea. While they can have fun looking at tropical plants and seeing the special exhibits, children seem to enjoy being able to splash around by the water. It is also equipped with complex play equipment, so I think it can be enjoyed by preschoolers or even the lower grades of elementary school.

It was a place that both adults and children could enjoy, including a children's park, shallow water area (where you could enter and play), and a viewing greenhouse. There was also a large dinosaur in the greenhouse. In the annex, there was a permanent exhibition of Noshiro's Nightless Castle in the Sky.
