This place is quite isolated place between Shiga and Kyoto. Tranquil place but some accommodation seems available.

A lovely sight. Accessing there is quite difficult though.

I asked about it as a motorcycle touring event. First of all, think of it as a very quiet, normal rural area. It's not a tourist destination, so don't rely on it for toilets, meals, events, etc. The roads inside the village are narrow, so if you are driving, you may not be able to go all the way to the top, so I think it would be better if you could just walk up the mountain and take a stroll. I had many conversations with people in the area. It is said that there were many more rice terraces in the past, but many of them were planted with trees because there were no successors.

It's a very nicely maintained rice terrace. The slope is quite steep and the road is narrow. If you stop, other cars won't be able to pass. There are also fallow fields. Difficult to capture in a photo... Apparently there are sometimes photographers with bad manners. Don't step into the footpath! It was a shame that there were so many warnings.
