Very worth the trip. We left from Kyoto to Yoshino. We checked the weather and cherry blossom status from Mount Yoshino website. Took two trains but still manageable. Spectacular views with all cherry blossom around me. Cherry blossom in the valleys and on the mount tops. Not be able to see so many cherry blossom in other places. We went on Sunday, quite busy.

This is inside the Yoshimizu Shrine, and basically gives an unobstructed view of the cherry blossoms along the mountain. Absolutely stunning. Even on weekdays the lookout will be a bit busy during spring.

It was cloudy, but the cherry blossoms were blooming so beautifully! I climbed the seven curves without taking the ropeway and walked straight to Zao-do, but it was very tiring. If you decide to go to Nakasenbon or Kamisenbon from there, please be careful as you will get excited. There are lots of cherry blossoms and stalls up until Zaodo, so you can be quite satisfied, so I don't think you need to push yourself too hard (^^) Also, there are stalls along the way selling the beer shown in the photo. There are two types, both 800 yen. Please note that this is not a local beer or anything. The atmosphere has a local beer feel, lol. The malt in low-malt beer is British and German. If you are going to buy this, I recommend the sake called Yoshinoyama (・∇・) I think spicy lovers will be satisfied. Please note that you basically cannot park in the parking lot. It's super congested! If you have time, we recommend parking a little further away near the station. I parked at a parking lot near Koshibe Station and took the train. The parking lot is about a 10 minute walk. However, please note that the route to the station involves walking on a road with no walking lanes, so it is not recommended for families with children! !

As the name suggests, this is a famous spot on Mt. Yoshino where you can see a thousand cherry blossoms at a glance. You can see the cherry blossoms as soon as you enter Yoshimizu Shrine. It's really great if it's sunny. The view of having the cherry blossoms all to yourself is breathtaking. However, it was a little disappointing that the weather was cloudy this time.
