Even amongst the many aquariums in Japan, this is a unique one, though not that huge. Focused solely on deep sea creatures, it has many fascinating live specimens and it even display non deep sea affiliate of the deep sea specimens just so we can observe the difference. Of course the main highly is the frozen specimen at -20 degrees Celsius and incredibly has been frozen since the 80s as the only one in the world that is 100% original (not taxidermy).

Very informative and detailed about deep sea fish within suruga bay. There is a surprising amount of fish in here and some interactive activities to showcase deep sea life. Not much English friendly but there is a pamphlet that describes most of the main exhibits

It's quite rare to learn about the deep sea world. Though the site is not big, it is very informative and well organized. Adults and kids enjoy the visit.

Many deep sea species I have never seen before. A good place to visit especially when it was raining hard.

The exhibition at this aquarium was very nice. However, there are two problems. One is that the only payment method is cash. The second is that the staff's response is not good. The staff at the admission ticket office responded according to the manual, and the five-member family customer in front of me pitifully stopped admission and went home. The staff who guides you at the entrance cannot guide you smoothly. As a result, the passage before going to the back of the building became a large line, and many people complained. The end of the large line was very empty. I was disappointed. The inside of the aquarium was vacant and comfortable, unlike the area near the entrance. The exhibition of deep-sea fish was also devised. It was fun to watch.
