Beautiful. nobody was there and we got to experience a deeper understanding of Japanese culture.

I learned about this tree on a trip in June a dozen years ago. I only saw it from the sidelines while driving, so I didn't know the name or location of this tree. A few years later, I happened to be featured on a travel program and found out the name and location, and I wanted to go right away, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, I was unable to go, so I was finally able to go the other day. With its quiet appearance, it felt like an entrance to the world of Totoro. I'm overwhelmed with emotion.

The old large cedar gawa has been preserved. There is a parking lot on the side street of the shrine. It seems that it was almost withered at the time of the Tenmei eruption, but the temple's chief priest somehow saved it by cutting off the top to protect it from mudslides in order to preserve it for future generations. Even after that, the parishioners apparently had a great deal of trouble growing cedar from inside the armor-like gawa. Although the road has been widened in recent years, this large cedar garden will continue to be loved by the local community. By the way, one of the highlights is that a new cedar sapling has been planted inside the stump of another cedar nearby.

On the way to my destination, I saw a very thick and large tree😳! ! I really wanted to see it because it was enshrined there, so I headed back down the road. There is another cedar in the big cedar cavity! ! This is my first time seeing something like this 🤯 In the back are [Chikaraishi] two stones, 98 kg and 47 kg ✨ A towering sacred tree✨I felt power when I touched it. I happened to be passing by and felt like I received a tremendous amount of power✨✨
