My original purpose was to see the Shihoyose stone pagoda, but today I learned for the first time that behind it was the Omashita corner hut. I arrived at 4:30 p.m., just as the museum was closing, so I was only able to speak a few words with the staff who were working on closing the museum. After returning home, I realized how amazing this mansion was, so I would like to visit it again soon. Admission is free. There is also a large parking lot in front of the corner hut entrance. About half a year later, I was finally able to return to see the inside of the corner hut, but I had forgotten the closing time, and by the time I arrived, I only had 15 minutes to spare. Still, the director was able to explain the museum and memorial hall in detail, so I was very happy. I was surprised at the spaciousness and size of the main building of the Horiuchi family, which is a memorial hall, and the appearance of a Japanese-style room where the lords and retainers of Hosokawa and Shimazu took a breather conveyed the weight of history and authenticity to this Reiwa world. I once again felt deeply how precious it is. I think I'll make time to visit this time. However, from April 2nd of the new fiscal year, this facility will become chargeable. You can watch it for free until March 31st.

I had a lot of fun watching it. Admission is free and photography is allowed. There is a lot of information and things about history. There are two storehouses, and one focuses on the Edo period, but the second also has writings about the era of Natsume Soseki, Liddell, and Mr. Wright. There are many things that show their age, but they are well kept and the gardens are beautiful.

It seems that Atsuhime and Mr. Saigo also took a break there, and the pillars of the merchant's house on the road were magnificent, and the wood-paneled room with the hearth was glossy. It was an ideal old folk house with a solid dirt floor❗

The life-sized dolls have a much more realistic feel. It is also interesting that the decorations and shelters of the rooms in which people rest differ depending on their social status.

It was very educational and interesting. But now I can't go upstairs. There is a good reason, but I would like to see the second floor as well.
