⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hasedera (長谷寺) is a breathtakingly beautiful temple nestled in Kamakura, offering a serene escape from the city's hustle. The temple's lush gardens, seasonal flowers, and stunning views of the coastline make it a peaceful retreat. The hydrangea path during the rainy season is particularly magical, and the Kannon statue inside the temple is both impressive and spiritually uplifting. The atmosphere is tranquil, and you can feel the deep history and reverence surrounding the temple grounds. Highly recommend spending time here to relax and reflect. Don't forget to visit the caves and enjoy the scenic views from the observation deck!

A beautiful temple and the grounds are stunning. The thousands of small statues brought by parents who have lost children is deeply moving

This temple is beautiful and we very much enjoyed the visit. The hydrangeas are in bloom at 60% as of june 5 according to a sign outside the entrance. There is an additional 500 yen fee to go on the hydrangea path (on top of 400 yen entrance fee) and fees are payable only in cash. We went close to the end of a sunny day so it was great that the weather had cooled down and we could enjoy it. There are also great views of the ocean from this temple. Don’t miss this if you are in Kamakura and it’s hydrangea season (June)!

This is a beautiful temple. Everything and every level depicts serenity and calmness. This temple also has great funsui in that it backs up to a mountain and directly faces the ocean. There are many levels to experience this temple with many waterfalls, Buddha, amazing architecture and beautiful landscape. Overall, this was a great experience.
