I visited in early May, and it was very quiet and the young leaves on the trees were beautiful. We recommend stopping by when you come to Zao. It seems that there are entrances to the promenade from various places. (I think it would be better to have a bear bell etc.)

May 2024 It was about 1.5km per lap, a good distance for a light walk🚶‍♂️. I think it depends on the season 🌸🌻🍂❄, but I think you can still enjoy a pleasant walk except when it's snowy. 👫There is also a skunk cabbage colony along the tour, which should be fun around April 🎶 Other than that, there are also small spots scattered around, such as ``Yokokura Falls'', ``Sukeo Sato's ``Turning'' Sculpture'', and ``Mokichi Saito Monument''✨ However, now 🚜 it doesn't seem to be well managed and things aren't looking very good. I couldn't help but feel a bit run down 💦 Too bad Speaking of decaying, it was probably a fine facility at the time🎾There were 7 tennis courts? It seems that it was crowded with the combination of sightseeing and sports facilities. 🅿️Parking lot🚗³₃ Along Prefectural Route 14 ``Kamiyama Zao Park Line'' there is a sign saying ``Sushi no Yachinuma 🅿️'' but it is difficult to understand so be careful ⚠️ However, even if you enter here, there are only 3 parking spaces, and there is a larger parking space if you enter from about 350m down (no signboards). (2nd and 3rd photo 🅿️ position)

It's a swamp. (Scenic spots) It is located a little way along Yamagata Prefectural Route 14 Kamiyama Zao Park Line. Parking is available. The road from Route 14 to the parking lot is narrow and there is only room for one car. It is also not very well maintained, so be careful as there are grasses and tree branches protruding from the side of the road. There is a promenade around the swamp that is about 1.5 km long. There is also a colony of skunk cabbage nearby. When I explored the area, I found the surrounding area to be very quiet, with only the sounds of birds and insects, which made me feel very calm. The view of the waterside surrounded by green mountains was beautiful. When I looked in the distance, I could see the ropeway going up to Zao. There were some waves in the swamp due to the wind, but when there were no waves, the mountain scenery seemed to be reflected in the swamp like a mirror. Also, during the autumn leaves season, the mountains change color and you can see even more beautiful scenery. The fresh greenery and marshes were beautiful in the summer, but I would like to visit in the fall as there are many scenery I haven't seen yet. There were snakes and insects when I was walking, so those who don't like snakes should be careful.

It's perfect for an early morning walk ☺️ It's about a 15 minute walk from the hotel, so I went out right away 😃 There's a promenade around the swamp, so it was easy to walk ☺️ Half of it is forest The middle half and the other half are areas where you can see the entire swamp, so you can enjoy forest bathing and take a walk while enjoying the scenery. I took a walk from the forest side. A small two-tiered waterfall called Yokokura Falls was flowing, and beyond it was a colony of skunk cabbage. Unfortunately, it was out of season so I couldn't admire the flowers 😢 As I went further, the forest broke off and I came to a wide open area in front of me😃 Then, to my surprise, I came across an antelope eating the leaves of a tree right in front of me. Yo 😲 Wow, I was surprised 😅 They probably came out to drink water ☺️ There were a lot of animal footprints 🐾 left in the sand near the water 😅 However, the upside-down view reflected on the water surface always impresses me 😃 And surprisingly, in the end, I came across a statue of a woman that didn't look right on the edge of the swamp😯It turned out to be a work called "Turning Around" by a sculptor named Sukeo Sato☺️
