hidden gem. it's not a very long path but it was completely empty! so peaceful and quiet and lovely bamboo forest that beats the arashiyama crowds for sure. downside is there's a lot of bugs in summer and since there's less people they will bite you more 😭 bring big spray!!

I went to bamboo path mainly to just say I’ve been as I dunno when I’ll be back in Kyoto. I went around 6pm and I was the only one there which was nice and the sun was going down, it was very peaceful. I had more fun talking with locals in a restaurant just down the hill. 6/10.

A very good alternative to the famous bamboo forest in Kyoto. It is a very long one and a very beautiful one, we also had a great overview of the city on top, there was also a park near to it.

This place was stunning! On the contrary to social media posts when we went there, there were no other people here. It was so relaxing and so nice to absorb the sounds of nature and freely take pictures and videos. However we weren’t prepared for the number of mosquitoes that bit us when walking through….!!! Apart from that we all enjoyed our walk, very hot during the summer.

Great place to visit and see the bamboo forests with less crowds than anywhere else in kyoto. This spot was 25km round trip from Kyoto and took about 4hr round trip with bikes. Overall it was fun but not much happening at the bamboo forest. Many paths to choose and lots of harvesting as the area is known for its bamboo shoots. Also had beautiful bamboo fences. No fee to enter.
