A statue of Komatsu Tateto is located in the plaza of Takarazan Hall, just a little further from Saigo Photo Plaza. It stands facing the Saigo Takamori bronze statue. Created by Toshihiro Nishimata, produced in 1993, donated by the Komatsu Taito Honor Society It is said that Komatsu Tateto encouraged Shogun Yoshinobu to restore imperial rule and created it with the idea of expressing his appearance when he wrote a book, imagining him holding a book in his left hand and a brush in his right hand. The face does not look at the statue of Saigo, but towards Terukuni Shrine across the street, and there are three statues of Nariakira Shimazu, Hisamitsu, and Tadayoshi at Terukuni Shrine, so the statue was built so that it looks like it is looking towards them. It seems that it has been decided. The explanation next to the statue says so, but I visited on a very hot day at the end of July. It was so hot that I didn't feel like reading, so when I got home and did some research, I realized that I should have taken a photo with Terukuni Shrine in the background, or that I should have gone to Terukuni Shrine to see the statue of the Three Lords. .

This is a bronze statue of Tateto Komatsu. I also wanted to see this. I get chills when I think about what if this person had lived a different life. There is no such thing as ``if'' in history, but I think it is human nature to think about it. He is a historical station figure that is very cherished in Kagoshima.

In front of the Prefectural Cultural Center (Takayama Hall) is a statue of Tateto Komatsu, a retainer of the Satsuma clan at the end of the Edo period. Coordinating with the feudal reform at the end of the Edo period and with Atsuhime, who you all know. He was a man who played an important role in the Meiji Restoration, such as performing the restoration of imperial rule together with his subordinates Saigo Takamori and Okubo Toshimichi. To people outside of Kagoshima, he is a minor figure compared to Saigo and Okubo, but in Kagoshima he is more famous than the previous two. When you look at the Shiroyama-kata Saigo bronze statue from behind the sword-wielding statue, you get the impression that it is directing some kind of life towards Saigo Takamori.
